Recommended Uses

  • Use on new, bare wood, wood stripped to bare wood, or properly prepared stained wood
  • Kitchen & bathroom cabinetry
  • Architectural millwork, furniture & shutters
  • For previously coated wood, skip the sanding sealer and apply Nova-Clear topcoat directly to a properly prepared surface

Product Detail

Nova-Clear Sanding Sealer is a high-performance waterborne sanding sealer formulated for wood substrates. It dries quickly and sands easily. When applied according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and topcoated with Nova-Clear finish, the complete coating system meets or exceeds applicable Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) performance requirements.

Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of grease, oil, dirt, and other contaminants that may interfere with adhesion. Sand with 150–180 grit sandpaper and remove all sanding dust before application.

Recommended film thickness per coat: Wet = 3.0–4.0 mils, Dry = 1.0–1.3 mils.

Coverage

400 – 500 sq ft per gallon, depending on the application method and the porosity of the substrate.
